'And She Was There All Pink and Gold'
The fond memory which reads "And she was there all pink and gold and glittery" was poignant and I wanted to touch on this whilst creating a piece which is reflective of Florence + the Machine. The pink and gold brooch in her hair is an homage to her Grandma beside Florence's portrait, a look of quiet mourning and prayer.
Aqua Man (watercolour, digital) illustrated poster submitted for a DC film poster competition.
The portrait of Aqua Man depicts a hero made of the ocean. The lighthouse shows us his past, whilst the trident forms the ocean king's crown- a symbol of his destiny.
Sansa's transition at the close of Season 4 is symbolised by her piercing, confrontational glare and ghostly face, drained of colour and warmth. The dark tones in the styling of her make-up highlight the gothic, sinister Sansa we are forced to accept. Her face is depicted in watercolour which shows softness, however the remains of her innocence are overshadowed by the feathers which are sharp like blades.
Daisy (watercolour, pencil, digital)
The golden painterly tones Daisy Buchanan's hair and the ornate jewellery are a picture of affluence. I chose a realistic style to produce a meticulous portrait of a lady doused in riches. The upward look of awe at the embodiment of the american dream shows her vanity towards materialism. This transparency is signified by her colourless, hollow face.
Laura (pencil, digital)
The portrait portrays Marling metaphorically dancing with the devil. She is immersed, overwhelmed, burdened under its weight, and in doing so has become 'The Beast'. The depiction of the beast is influenced by Native American headdress along with the unforgiving, visceral beasts of nature which have now become her crown.
India (pencil, digital)
The film poster focuses on Mia Wasikowska's central character India. The clues around the illustration build a sinister and unnerving mood around her, whilst the stiletto reveals the disturbing influence of her uncle Charlie; two thirds of a dark family love triangle also involving India's mother- Nicole Kidman's Evelyn Stoker.

The Beast is cover artwork for Laura Marling's new album. My vision portrays Marling metaphorically dancing with the devil. She is immersed, overwhelmed, burdened under its weight, and in doing so has become 'The Beast'. The depiction of the beast is influenced by Native American headdress along with the unforgiving, visceral beasts of nature which have now become her crown.
A portrait of Lorde, open and honest, channeling her album Pure Heroine, with signature brunette locks.
Thinktank Science Museum / Millennium Point Bookbench Design Statement
Harbouring fossils and skeletons of ancient beasts - including the great Ichthyosaur - Thinktank Birmingham Science Museum became a monument of retreat for a group of crafty young geniuses from Nechells E-Act Academy. A challenge was bestowed upon them to populate the planet with the most fierce beasts known to man. Imaginations ran wild, conjuring visions of great beasts. These inventions were harnessed by an artist known only to the locals as Milan. A magician with a paintbrush, Milan summoned these legends and immortalised them onto a mythical bench, forever carrying their legacy.
The Core Theatre Bookbench Design Statement
Through theatre or song, comedy or pantomimes, the best of the arts gather at The Core Theatre which has raised it’s curtains to thousands of stories told over the years. Like Alice falling down the rabbit hole, the theatre is a portal to the fantastic and is such at the centre of mural celebrating ten classic children’s stories, can you name them all? The design celebrates pantomimes from The Core’s program along with Bilbo’s journey to the Lonely Mountain, an ode to legendary local author JRR Tolkien.
To celebrate Roald Dahl’s Centenary year, the rear side of the bookbench highlights two classic Dahl characters together for the first time in a quiet and whimsical scene. The bird delivering the book is an ode to Solihull’s Home Library Service, enabling less mobile local residents access to enjoy books.

As part of the schools programme of the The Big Sleuth sculpture trail In 2017, I visited St Francis C of E Primary School to paint a sculpted bear called Fioretti. Every single pupil helped paint and colour the bear design which was inspired by St Francis’ love of nature.
For The Big Hoot in 2015, I collaborated St Toms Church Community Project in Sheldon, Birmingham, working with children, teenagers and visually impaired service users to develop an original design which celebrated Sheldon. The design also contained a tactile braille message.
I also delivered an afternoon workshop at Thinktank Science Museum to a local primary school group from Yew Tree School in Aston. The pupils each decorated a leaf which together were gathered on a painted tree on the bear sculpture.
I worked with Sheffield & Hallamshire Football Association to develop a design for Meadowhall Hearts 2015, representing diversity in football at every level. The completed heart sculpture was on display at Meadowhall, Sheffield during the summer.
