In its entirety, Birmingham spans over 100 miles of canals including Brindleyplace - named after canal engineer James Brindley. Nestled in Oozells Square sits IKON, while an array of Birmingham landmarks punctuate the skyline. Black Sabbath, the godfathers of heavy metal, overlook the tunnel that leads to Gas Street Basin. Illuminated in front of Grand Central stands the 6.5 ton bronze bull designed by Laurence Broderick; ambling canalside through falling blossom is legendary Birmingham writer and poet Benjamin Zephaniah.
